On July 6, 2025, at the 17th BRICS Summit, China announced the launch of the BRICS New Industry “Golden Egret” Excellence Scholarship (“Golden Egret” Scholarship) in support of capacity building in sectors related to industry and telecommunications among BRICS countries.
In response to the consensus reached at the Summit, the BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution (PartNIR) Innovation Center (BPIC) formally launched the “Golden Egret” Scholarship. The initiative aims to advance the high-quality development of “Greater BRICS Cooperation” and to promote the Initiative for International Cooperation on New Industrialization. Its first two training programs, the “2025 BPIC Training Program on Industrial Green Development and Digitalization” and “2026 BPIC Training Program on Smart Manufacturing and Innovation-Driven Development (Spring Session),” were successfully conducted, attracting 55 government officials, industry elites, and academics from 28 countries, and receiving widespread acclaim.
In October 2026, under the “Golden Egret” Scholarship, the BPIC will organize the “2026 BPIC Training Program on Smart Manufacturing and Innovation-Driven Development (Autumn Session)” in China.
