
On July 13, Vice Minister of the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC) Wang Lingjun met at the GACC headquarters with Mohammad Rezvani-Far, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance of Iran and Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), and Alireza Mohajer, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Iran.
Both sides spoke positively of the fruitful outcomes of China-Iran customs inspection and quarantine cooperation. They fully exchanged views on implementing the important strategic consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthening cooperation in the "Single Window," Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) mutual recognition, supervision of transit goods, anti-smuggling enforcement, electronic certificates, electronic data exchange, training exchanges, and cooperation within the World Customs Organization (WCO) framework, as well as promoting the export of high-quality agricultural and food products from Iran to China. The two parties agreed to continue deepening practical customs inspection and quarantine cooperation between the countries to jointly advance bilateral trade and economic development.
In 2022, bilateral trade between China and Iran reached US$15.71 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 7.8%. China remained Iran’s largest trading partner for the tenth consecutive year.
