
From May 20 to 23, Ms. Sun Meijun, Minister of the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC) led a delegation to Almaty, Kazakhstan, to attend the second meeting of the heads of customs services in the Central Asia-China. Together with customs heads from Central Asian countries, she reviewed the implementation outcomes of the first meeting, identified key cooperation priorities and tasks under the meeting mechanism, and reached consensus on customs risk management, inspection technologies, and cooperation on the International Trade "Single Window," thereby contributing customs deliverables for the second China-Central Asia Summit.
During the visit, bilateral meetings were held with customs heads from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and other countries to discuss topics such as smart customs development, enhancing port throughput capacity, and promoting trade security and customs clearance facilitation. Accompanied by Mr. Duysembiev Zhandos Zhumabayevich, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, Kazakhstan, she conducted an inspection at the Nur Zholy-Khorgos Port.

During the visit, the delegation also exchanged views on work with responsible officials from the Chinese Consulate General in Almaty, held in-depth discussions with Aidarbek Saparov, Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, on China-Kazakhstan agricultural and food product trade and safety, and signed a protocol on bilateral health and quarantine requirements for poultry meat trade.
